Consider the novel Speak you are starting to read in class. As you read, hopefully you will take time to reflect on your own experiences with the themes and content of the novel, specifically date rape and other forms of abuse among high school students. Please take time to read at least one of the articles I have included. After reading, take some time and submit a reply to this post. Ideally, try to answer the following questions: Is enough attention given to this topic in school /at home? Are you aware of this type of behavior going on in your school / community? What is your experience with this topic? Is the prevalent attitude one of, "This would never happen to me..." or "She had it coming to herself because she is a...or she was..." As you read, gather some information and prepare a reply that includes the title, author, setting, culture, protagonist description, and brief plot overview. Also provide a short critique and rate the book on a scale of 1-4. Explain your rating. Due no later than Friday, November 14. What do you know about Vampires? Who is Dracula? Write about what you know, think, heard, or always wanted to know but were afraid to ask about vampires.
